In today’s era, everyone has an aspiration and there is a realistic way of fulfilling each aspiration. There are several ways to fulfill these aspirations, one of the most common ways is to take part in one of the several entrance exams which grants admissions in international universities. One of the most prominent exams is GMAT. Graduate Management Admission Test can be taken 5 times a year and up to 8 times in total. GMAT score attained by a candidate is applicable for 5 years which gives candidate time to serve out their notice period. GMAT syllabus includes analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in written English for use in admission to a graduate management program.
GMAT Exam Pattern: The exam is a 3 hours and 7 to 11 minutes long online test. It consists of 4 broad sections:
- Analytical writing number of questions are one and time limit is 30 min
- Integrated reasoning number of questions are 12 and time limit is 30 min
- Quantitative number of questions are 31 and time limit is 62 min
- Verbal number of questions are 36 and time limit is 65 min
Analytical writing analysis- The main objective of this section is to test the candidate critical thinking as well as written communication skills.
Integrated reasoning- This section consists of the data present in the form of graphs, passages, table, etc. based on the data provided below questions are asked-
- Table analysis
- Graphics interpretation
- Multi-source reasoning
- Two-part analysis
Quantitative reasoning- This section checks the mathematical ability of the candidate. Person has to decide whether the statements given would be sufficient to answer the question in the problem statement.
Verbal reasoning- This section is considered to be the most critical and toughest part of the GMAT exam. GMAT Syllabus comprises of 3 types of questions:
Reading comprehension- It consists of passages which have to be understood in order to answer questions related to it.
Critical reasoning- it measures the candidate’s ability to evaluate arguments and choose the best option available.
Sentence correction- this section focuses on testing candidate’s grammar knowledge and vocabulary.
The GMAT syllabus is quite extensive but the true GMAT preparation time required is very limited. The AWA and IR section is not concept intensive but rather requires practice. Thus the GMAT concept preparation has to be concentrated on verbal and quantitative section. For one who want to enter the corporate world with a qualification and at good position, this test followed by the course can be of immense help. Hence the significance of this course is very high. One must practice well before the test and go for regular coaching also if his target is to get admission in a leading business school. The score of this test is valid in a number of institutes and hence one can have better scope of future if he gets required rank.
