Some Windows 10 PC users recently reported that the KP printer is offline. This can happen when:
Printer and PC connection is not responding / slow.
An internal error has occurred in the printer.
The printer has several incomplete print jobs in the queue.
So how do you solve this problem? Read the following material for solutions.
1. Check the printer and network connection
If the HP printer is offline, first check the printer and network connection. To do this, you can turn the printer off for 25-30 seconds and then turn it on again. You also need to make sure that the cable is properly connected and that the router is working properly.
With Windows 10, you can share the printer on the main computer or on another computer. Today’s article will discuss sharing the printer on the Windows 10 network.
2. Use the printer’s offline settings
Follow the steps below:
1: Press the “Windows + I” keys to open the Settings window, then select Devices.
2: Select the Printers & Scanners tab and then select a printer device. Click this printer device and select Open Queue.
3: In the new window, click Printer and uncheck Use offline printer.
3. Set it as the default printer
1: Open the settings for printers and scanners again. Click the printer device and select Open Queue.
2: Click Printer and select Set as Default Printer.
Installation 4. Installation via services
This mode is available only if the printer uses a WSD port. If you don’t use that port, you should skip this method.
Here is the tutorial on how to check if your printer is using a WSD port:
1: Open the settings for printers and scanners again. Click the printer device and select Open Queue.
2: Click on Printer to expand it. Then select Properties.
3: In the Properties window, go to the Ports tab. Then check if the printer uses a WSD port.
If the printer uses a WSD port, you can follow the steps below to change the service settings:
1: Search for “Services” in the Start menu and then click on the best match result to open it.
2: Scroll through the list to find the host of a function detection provider and the author of function detection resources. So check the
Status columns and startup type. If the status is not active, you can right-click on it and select Start. If the startup type is not automatic, you can right-click on it and select Properties to set them to automatic.
Then you can check if the problem is solved. If not, follow the steps below to add a new port:
1: Print a network configuration report from the printer settings or from the wireless menu.
2: Return to the Printer Ports tab and then click Add Port.
Solution 5. Make a manual IP connection
1: Print a network configuration page from the configuration or network configuration menu. Then, under the network connection type (wired or wireless), check whether the status of the network is connected or not.
2: If the status is not connected, you must first connect the printer to the network. Next, find the IP address, subnet mask, and default gateway for the type of network connection. If you find other numbers for IPv4 and IPv6, you only need the IPv4 number. Then get the URLs for the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
3: Open the EWS URL in a web-based browser In EWS, click the Networks / Networks tab, open the Wired / Wireless menu, and then click IPv4 Configuration. Select Manual IP, click Recommend a manual IP address, and then configure the IP address.
