HOW DOES  ANDREI SKOCH’S POKOLENIE (GENERATION) FOUNDATION ASSIST  CITIZENS?

Andrei Vladimirovich Skoch is a deputy of the State Duma, a former entrepreneur, and the winner of many honorary awards.

Andrei Skoch founded the Healthy Generation (Zdorovoe Pokolenie) Humanitarian Foundation in 1996 to develop healthcare in the Belgorod Region, as well as to help children with severe heart diseases. However, later the organization was renamed Pokolenie (Generation) Foundation when it expanded the scope of its activities and began to develop and support projects in various fields: medicine, science, sports, education, historical heritage, etc. In addition, Skoch’s Foundation provides targeted assistance to big families, the disabled, Veterans of the Second World War and many others. Since its foundation, thousands of Russian citizens have received vital support.

POKOLENIE (GENERATION) FOUNDATION’S SIGNIFICANT PROJECTS

One of Andrei Skoch’s Foundation’s most famous projects was the Debut Literary Award, which was established in 2000. Young authors under 25 years old took part in the competition every year (later, the maximum age was raised to 35 years). The winners in each of the nominations had received 1 million rubles each. Over the years of the existence of the prize, the jury evaluated over 350,000 manuscripts.

The Healthy Childhood Award, also created by Andrei Vladimirovich Skoch in 2000, was awarded for significant achievements in the field of pediatric medicine. The premium amounted to 2 million rubles.

Andrei Skoch’s Foundation put forth a great deal of effort on the restoration of military graves. A total of over 1 billion rubles were allocated for the implementation of programs and projects in this area, including:

  • over 170 monuments to those who died in the Great Patriotic War in Belgorod region were restored;
  • the Katyn Memorial Complex in Smolensk Region was restored;
  • the reconstruction of the Obelisk monument and the Memorial to the deceased Russian and Soviet soldiers in the PRC (for this project, Andrei Skoch was awarded the Order of Honor of the Russian Federation);
  • material assistance was provided to the project “Debt of the Fatherland” to restore the Russian necropolis in Belgrade.

One of the most important of Andrei Skoch’s initiatives was the ‘Parental Record’ competition, which sought to encourage and support large Russian families. From 2011 to 2016, the winners have received a total of over 72.5 million rubles.

INFORMATION ABOUT ANDREI SKOCH

Andrei Vladimirovich Skoch was born in 1966 in Nikolskoye village, Moscow Region. In 1990, he began to work in the business world. He invested in Interfin in 1995, which subsequently combined a variety of assets, including several enterprises in  Belgorod Region, eventually getting a new name – the Metalloinvest Group.

Andrei Skoch has been a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation for over 20 years. When he became engaged in politics, he handed over his business assets to his father Vladimir Skoch. As a parliamentarian, Andrei Vladimirovich was the author and co-author of more than 150 legislative initiatives.

Andrei Vladimirovich Skoch is the recipient of many awards, including medals of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” of the I and II degrees, medals of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation “For Merit in perpetuating the memory of those killed in the defense of the Fatherland”, medal “For Merit to the Land of Belgorod” I degree, as well as having received a commendation from the President of the Russian Federation.
