Two More Reasons Why You Should Use Spring-Loaded Casters

Spring-loaded casters, of course, are casters that use springs to absorb all forms of shock and motion that can occur when workers are moving carts or other certain transport devices. They are usually more expensive than regular casters. However, you should consider investing in spring-loaded casters if you want to do the following.

You Want To Reduce Noise In Your Building

The noise throughout a factory is already very loud. If you add that the sound of the casters rattling away across the factory floor, things are probably going to be very loud for your workers. The worst that can occur is your company having to pay workers’ comp for damaged ears or being sued for failing to protect the welfare of your workers. If you don’t want this to happen, then you should get a noise reducing caster for each of your transports.

You Want Your Casters To Last Longer

Ordinarily, the wheel and the ball-bearing in a caster have to bear the full brunt of a product’s weight. When the caster is given a spring, this spring will absorb most if not all of the stress that would usually only fall on the other parts of the caster. As stress usually causes things to wear down over time, the wheels and ball bearing in the caster will degrade greatly after years and years of stress. However, if the spring absorbs much of the stress, the rest of the caster will experience less stress and thus fall apart less quickly. This is why spring-loaded casters last longer than ordinary ones.

Again, it’s probably good to choose spring loaded casters only if you truly believe that they will lower your overall costs. Choosing spring-loaded casters when they are not needed is not a good idea if your money can be spent on better investments towards your company’s success.
